Broussard's Restaurant & Courtyard
About This Spot
Stepping into Broussard's Restaurant & Courtyard feels like entering a quietly elegant embrace nestled just moments from the buzz of Bourbon Street. The moment you arrive, there’s a distinct sense of timelessness — a historic haven where warm wood tones and soft lighting ease you in, inviting a slower pace amidst New Orleans’ lively heart. Whether you're settling in the intimacy of the main dining room or tucked away in the charm of the shaded courtyard, the atmosphere breathes a refined yet welcoming energy.
This is a place that honors tradition while inviting discovery, making it perfect for leisurely brunches or unhurried dinners that linger long after plates are cleared. The rhythm here is neither rushed nor rigid; instead, it moves with a graceful confidence that lets conversations flow as naturally as the pours from their thoughtfully curated wine and cocktail lists.
On the plate and in the glass, every bite and sip reflects layers of Creole heritage with a contemporary touch. Whether it’s the comforting warmth of shrimp and grits or the playful kick of fried green tomatoes topped with hollandaise, the menu unfolds like a friendly story, each dish inviting you to savor not just flavor but the moments they create. Bottomless mimosas, for instance, aren’t just a drink — they’re part of the ritual, gently nudging the brunch hour into one of easy camaraderie and soft laughter.
The service further enriches the experience, attentive without interrupting, responsive enough to smooth out any bumps, and always clearly committed to making each visit feel a bit like coming home. There’s an unmistakable care woven into the details here, from the way servers handle the unexpected to how they guide guests through the menu’s delights.
For those who know New Orleans well or are just discovering it, Broussard’s offers a layered experience — a respectful nod to its century-old presence combined with a lively sense of now. It’s a spot where the city’s hospitality shines quietly, a place you might return to not just for the food, but for the way it makes you feel nestled into the fabric of a neighborhood that never quite sleeps but always welcomes.

Cameron “Cam” we would come back just for this brilliant nice sole. He was an amazing server. Good atmosphere. If you come to NOLA you have to come here!! I’d fly back just to eat here.

Great place just over 100 years old. We went for the Sunday brunch so we had endless mimosas !!! The fried oysters with creamed spinach and bacon were great. The corn bread and the baked Camembert were really good also. For entree I tried the Josephine poached eggs, instead of the English muffin of a regular Benedict eggs they came with an amazing crab cake. I highly suggest them.

Broussard's was a very interesting experience. It's a very fancy looking restaurant, and it's not a walk-in, walk-out situation. We were a large group (13) and so of course was had reservations. The food looked very delicious, but at this point, I didn't want to order anything. They had bottomless mimosas ($22.00) and a few (expensive) appetizers. See the image of the menu below for more options if you're wondering what they have. I did LOVE the live music. The band was incredible and they came up to our table playing the songs we requested, absolutely loved them!

Literally 50 steps off Bourbon street. The interior atmosphere and ambience cannot be beat. We sat in the courtyard and it was really nice. We had an incident where the 4 drinks for our party was not well done. We complained and the manager fixed that by making 4 old fashions on the spot. Kudos for exemplary service and focus on clientele satisfaction. I had the duck and it was good. Meat was done correctly and sauce was right.

We came for Thanksgiving dinner. We had the pork chop with kale and sweet potatoes and the herbed turkey with garlic mashed potatoes, cornbread dressing, sweet potato casserole, cranberry sauce, and green bean casserole. Everything was so amazing and generosly portioned for the price. Highly recommend!

Our dinner at Broussard’s was absolutely fantastic and captured the very best of New Orleans. The food was so great, with every dish hitting the mark for flavor and quality, but the experience went far beyond just the meal. Our waiter was incredibly nice and attentive, making us feel right at home from the moment we sat down. To top it all off, the live jazz was awesome, providing the perfect soundtrack to a wonderful night in the French Quarter. We couldn't have asked for a better combination of excellent service, delicious Creole cuisine, and authentic local music!

1st time in New Orleans. Brussard's is legendary, unfortunately it did not live up to the hype. We had the jazz brunch sans the jazz. We were serenaded for a couple of songs and that was it. Service was great. Lovely server and we did not feel rushed. Cocktails were superb. Lunch was good but under seasoned and we had the worst coffee of our lives. Lukewarm and bitter as an ex-wife with no prenuptial. I'm not saying don't try this restaurant...just go knowing it might not be "all that" and a bag of chips.
